Just leaving Tybee Island Georgia. Tybee Island is a year-round beach community for the most part. But it's also home to the Tybee Island lighthouse which in its present iteration dating back to 1867 is one of the oldest light houses in the country. It was originally built in 1736. They've done a great job restoring in preserving all of it including the keepers cottage and the assistant keepers cottage Saturday. There are 178 steps to the top of the lighthouse. I did the first 25 and that was enough.
I'm now on my way to Beaufort South Carolina. Which means Temple Beaufort is going to Beaufort.

Am in Savannah Georgia. I did not realize that Savannah is one of the busiest ports. We saw a huge container ship sailing up The river to the port yesterday.
Savannah's twomain industries are shipping and tourism. The city is almost defined by the large number of parks or squares that you find. The trees are unbelievably beautiful. Many many live oaks with Spanish moss hanging from every limb. There are statues in every square. There is a Polasky Square, and Oglethorpe Square, and many other figures of historical significance. The older houses and homes are magnificent. One very interesting one was the house that was used in the movie midnight in the garden of good and evil.
